Stats:
Change since last weigh-in (4 weeks ago!): – 0.5
Net total change: -7.5
Finally being back home feels really great. My own routines, my own space. My own grocery list. My own snacks. I was quite the cliché this past month. The first week was pretty good. But after that, straight downhill. Regressing. Sneaking food. Soda instead of water. Holiday parties. Cookies, latkes, kugel. I’m pretty sure there was a bag of Milanos in there, but it’s all a blur. Speaking of Christmas weight-loss miracles… I can assure you I stepped on the scale this morning just hoping I hadn’t gained it all back. No idea how I managed a net loss, even a small one, but I’ll take it!
Now, it feels a little bit like being back at the first week. The points don’t feel like enough, and it’s hard to fight the urge to snack non-stop between 7 and 9pm. But it feels good. I bought a ton of produce at the store, and am determined to start making more salads, as green vegetables are a weak spot for me. And now that I can wear real shoes again, I’m looking forward to putting my gym’s babysitting room to good use and hopping on that elliptical machine. I know, I’ll be there with all of the other New Year’s bandwagon people. Hopefully the fact that I can go during the work day will moderate the crowds.
Alright, I’m still exhausted despite the fact that the kids have slept in strangely late the last few days, so that’s all I’ve got. Happy New Year to everyone (for whatever reason, our New Year’s Eve food tradition has been Mexican food at home… we’ll see…). See you in 2009!

Oh great job on the loss. And you are so right about the points not feeling like enough after you go off for a bit. I feel the same way. I weigh in tonight and I am just hoping I didn’t botch everything up.

YAY for a loss!! and YAY for being able to work out again!
I taught swim lessons at a health club and I hated Jan. because I could never find a parking spot. By Feb. the parking lot would be manageable again

Ohmygosh, you totally ROCK! I don’t know how in the crap you were recovering from foot surgery and you ate what you wanted, for the most part, and you still lost weight! Maybe stress from being away from home speeds up your metabolism? Congrats…that is awesome news
To fight my hunger in the evenings, I will often have a cup of blackberries (or some other fruit)with lots of whipped cream, it’s a 3.5 point dessert, (due to the amount of whipped cream I use
) but it fills me up for the entire evening. I also eat low point breakfast and lunches, so I can eat quite a lot in the evenings, if I want.
